Posted by Candice On May - 29 - 2010

Energy Solutions International, Inc. (ESI), a leading supplier of software solutions to worldwide oil and gas pipeline companies, today announced it has merged with Houston-based Entessa Inc., a leading provider of logistics management software for the oil and gas supply chain. Details of the transaction were not disclosed.

Entessa’s technology platform, Synthesis™, complements ESI’s suite of solutions for the energy industry. The expanded portfolio enables ESI to provide a comprehensive solution for end-to-end supply chain management in the energy transportation sector.

“This is a truly synergistic merger,” said Dr. Jo Webber, who, as part of the transaction, has been appointed Executive Chairman of the company. “ESI’s strength has been serving the pipeline market with a broad range of integrated products that drive excellence in operational efficiency, throughput management, pipeline safety and transaction management. Entessa’s leadership as a provider of logistics management software to pipeline operations, as well as marine, terminal and refinery applications, gives the new Energy Solutions a broader selection of technologies and solutions for our customers’ Order-to-Cash chain management.”

Brian Freed, CEO and co-founder of Entessa, has been named CEO of Energy Solutions International. “We are excited about this combination and see this merger as recognition of the tremendous success Entessa has achieved in North America,” said Mr. Freed. “We look forward to global exposure for Synthesis through ESI’s worldwide organization, and to working together to develop our complementary technologies for the benefit of our customers. The new Energy Solutions International will continue to focus on improving our customers’ efficiency and performance through the application of innovative technologies.”
